Phillip William Jenner is a passionate photographer based in Derbyshire, in the heart of the East Midlands. Fuelled by a lifelong love for exploration and the natural world, Phillip sees photography as a form of escapism—a way to immerse himself in extraordinary landscapes and experiences that inspire awe and reflection.
A Derbyshire Based Photographer
Over the past eight years, his journey as a landscape photographer has taken him on countless adventures: capturing breathtaking temperature inversions at dawn in the Peak District National Park, sleeping under the stars in the Lake District, and embracing the wild challenges of the Scottish Highlands in winter. Yet, some of Phillip’s most meaningful moments are found closer to home.
Now, he finds peace and creative inspiration right on his doorstep in the quiet surroundings of Dale Abbey. Here, he explores the local woods and landscapes with his faithful Golden Retriever, Indie, often spending hours photographing the subtle beauty of the everyday—gnarled trees, shifting light, and the calming rhythm of nature.
Phillip’s connection to the landscape is deep-rooted, shaped by a childhood spent building dens in nearby forests and wandering the coastlines and hills of the UK. That same adventurous spirit continues to guide his work today.
In addition to his landscape photography, Phillip is an accomplished wedding photographer with over six years of experience. He brings a thoughtful, honest approach to documenting love stories, ensuring that each moment is preserved with care and creativity.
A regular contributor to On Landscape magazine, Phillip’s work has also been recognised in the prestigious Landscape Photographer of the Year competition.

Long Distance Walker
Phillip William Jenner doesn’t just chase landscapes—he chases limits. When he’s not behind the lens capturing the quiet poetry of nature, he’s out on foot, hammering out miles across the wild and rolling heart of Derbyshire. For Phillip, anything under 20 miles isn’t just a short walk—it’s a fail. This is more than just physical exercise; it’s a personal challenge, a mental reset, a test of resilience.
Each step across moorland paths, forest trails, and windswept ridges is part of his process. It’s where grit meets solitude, where the body aches and the mind quiets. He thrives on the edge of fatigue—pushing himself further, harder, longer—not for glory, but for clarity, discipline, and a deeper connection to the land he loves.
For Phillip, endurance and exploration go hand in hand. The further he walks, the more he understands himself—and the more intimately he connects with the soul of Derbyshire. Whether it's 20, 25, or even 30 miles, every walk is a journey into the wild and into his own limits.

What was never meant to be
The video shows Phillip in the early days of his landscape photography journey, In 2018, He’s out in the Peak District, battling harsh winds while chasing moving light across the hills. The landscape is wild and open, with clouds racing overhead and patches of sunlight breaking through across the valleys.
Phillip works quietly and focused — setting up his tripod, adjusting filters, and watching the light shift moment by moment. A small camera crew follows him, capturing the behind-the-scenes in a raw, unpolished way. No script, no production — just real moments of a photographer finding his footing out in the wild.
The idea was to launch a YouTube channel around travel, landscape, and adventure. Unfortunately, it never came to be. But that never discouraged Phillip. If anything, it deepened his purpose — a reminder that the outdoors, the light, and the moments in between were always enough.
